Why Organic?


Organic products produced by the most natural methods are more delicious and nutritious than other products. As a result, people who consume organic foods grow a natural defense against disease. They can live a healthier life by protecting themselves from cancer and other modern-day diseases through organic nutrition. People who consume organic foods have a lower risk of contracting cancer. Colon cancer is the second most common type of cancer, particularly after lung cancer, and it is caused by malnutrition. To be protected against this type of cancer, it's of utmost importance that we must incorporate organic nutrition into our daily lives. Organic diet is a vital foundation for living a healthy life. However, it should be noted that not all natural products are organic.

What is Organic Product?

"Organic" means that plant and animal foods are produced naturally without any kind of genetic modification. In order for a product to have an Organic Certificate, it is required that all stages of its production starting from the field until to the table must be inspected by certification bodies authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Turkey (most of which are international authorities) and must meet the required criteria as per the standards and regulations of the European Union.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF ORGANIC FOOD IS ORGANIC?

When selecting organic products, it is important to check whether they have certificates. To be able to produce organically, all land, farmer, manure, grown product, companies handling manufacturing and packaging, and marketing processes must be audited and accredited by approved organizations. Every two years, the soil is left fallow and rested to ensure that it has enough minerals for harvest. Production sites should be at least 5 kilometers away from sources that pollute the atmosphere, such as factory chimneys and highways. Natural seeds, natural fertilizer should be used and spraying should be applied partially. The cost of all these criteria being high and the yield being low results in organic products being high in price compared to other products. HOW TO EAT ORGANIC?

  • We must ensure that the products have been certified by accredited organizations.
  • We should consume the fruit in its season and the vegetables on their day.We must consume organically fed animal meat, milk, yogurt, and eggs. In terms of meat intake, we should eat meat from free-range farm animals rather than animals raised as industrialized livestock.
  • If we consider our health to be more important and precious than anything else, we should eat plants and vegetables grown in the soil, fruits that fall from the trees, and grass-fed livestock meat.
  • While GMO-containing foods are not permitted to enter in our country, they are permitted as animal feed. It enters the environment and soil from the feces of animals fed GMO feed. Later, it passes on to animals who feed on plants in the soil, and it enters not only the agricultural zone, but also other agricultural areas with the aid of insects and butterflies, thus reducing organic farming areas.
  • Organic livestock farming is just as critical as organic agriculture. The free diet is what makes an animal's meat and milk tasty. Therefore, animals should not be served factory feed. Omega-3 fatty acids are formed in the fat of animals that eat foliage, much as they are in the fat of algae-consuming fish.
